What is special about this role?
Lead large-scale architecture initiatives and build Platform services that broadly impact Helix Engineering and our partners.
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will:
Architect robust distributed systems designs that are highly secure and performant.
Code systems and components that support wide-ranging product lines at Helix, from genomics to viral surveillance, lab systems to diagnostics.
Innovate on healthcare data access patterns and interoperability in order to improve health equity.
Collaborate with product managers, bioinformaticians, and scientists to build platform services.
Establish strong engineering practices that are adopted across the organization.
Mentor other engineers to reinforce a culture of learning and teaching.
About you:
10 years development experience Go, Python, Java, Javascript, or a similar language
Expertise developing software on public cloud platforms — AWS, Azure, or GCP
Affinity for an engineering culture that emphasizes agile, DevOps, and continuous delivery
A proven track record of successful, large-scale projects
Pluses:
BS in Computer Science; coursework in genetics or bioinformatics
Familiarity with regulated software systems and entities
Familiarity with full-stack development
