Helio Health is Hiring a Recreation Specialist Near Binghamton, NY
- Enforce rules and regulations of facility to maintain safety.
- Responsible for: exercise facilities, inventory, maintenance and upkeep of recreation materials and lounges.
- Organize, lead, and promote interest in recreational activities; analyze and adapt activities to individual ability levels; create activities that meet the interests of participants.
- Conduct programming evaluation to ensure that the programs produce desired results.
- Encourage participants to develop their own activities and leadership skills through group discussions or meetings.
- Oversee the inventory of recreational materials and activity cart.
- Think creatively to help participants overcome barriers to recovery orientated leisure.
- Consult with primary Counselor to review treatment planning goals related to leisure and activities.
- Patient education.
- Reporting, documentation of services and record keeping.
- Consultation with other professionals.
- Associates degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
- One year of experience in recreation or a related field preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education or work experience may be considered.
- CTRS Certification or progress toward CTRS Certification preferred.
