The Children'sCSU Master's Level Clinician:

  • completes face-to-face assessment of clientsexperiencing a psychiatric emergency to determine level of serviceneeded
  • facilitates referral-related activities to link clients withneeded services
  • follows-up on client to ensure treatment is beingrendered
  • assists with assessments at main site.

COMPENSATION: Startingsalary for this position is approximately $49,980 /yr based on relevantexperience and education.

Schedule: 

  • The Children's Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)will operate 24/7, 365 days a year. 
  • The holder of this position will beexpected to work shifts that meet the needs of the program operation, which mayinclude day, night, weekend, and holiday hours. 
  • Regular attendance is anessential job function. 
  • Mandatory to remain awake and alert during shift

Travel:

  • This positionrequires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business. 
  • Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition ofemployment.

Equipment/Technology

  • Basic computer skills are required for email, time keeping, scheduling, and documentation in the electronic medical record. 

QUALIFICATIONS - Children'sCSU Master's Level Clinician

Education: 

  • A Master's degree in a health-related field of counseling, psychology,social work, sociology and experience working with individuals with mentalillness and/or co-occurring diagnoses. 
  • Preferred Master's level licensed orlicense eligible clinician.

Experience / Knowledge

  • Must have coursework and or experience in the areas of cultural diversity, human development,etiology and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, physical andsexual abuse, suicide, and crisis intervention.
  • Must have experience inworking with special populations including individuals with Severe and PersistentMental Illnesses and Co-Occurring Disorders. 
  • Computer experience is helpful. 
  • Experience working in a crisis setting preferred.

Physical:

  • Minimalexposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal/soft tones and close eye work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • CPR and First Aidcertification required (training provided).
  • Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbalde-escalation techniques.
  • Applicants should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
  • Clinical staff may be required to get an F endorsement to transportclients as necessary.
