Jointhe McNabb Center Team as an Innerchange Counselor today!

The InnerchangeCounselor is responsiblefor providing case management, individual, family and group counseling foryouth ages 12-18 referred to Innerchange by Knox County Juvenile Court andother community referral sources:

• Making appropriate weekly contacts with clients based on level of need and reason for referral.
• Conducting groups during evening hours for Innerchange clients at least 2 evenings per week.
• Providing 24 hours on-call availability for youth and families in crisis 7 days per week.
• Conducting curfew checks and recommending drug screening by the court if needed.
• Completing all documentation regarding Innerchange Program compliance to the court or other referral sources with appropriate releases of information.
• Completing HRMC intake paperwork, treatment plan and other documentation related to the case in a timely manner. 
• Partnering with community resources to ensure the success of clients in the Innerchange Program, including Knox County Schools, court staff and mental health professionals.
• Attending all court hearings and CFTMs for Innerchange clients.

COMPENSATION: Startingsalary for this position is approximately $15.78 / hr based on relevantexperience and education.

Schedule: 

• Due to the diversity ofjob responsibilities, this position requires flexibility in scheduling

Travel:

• F endorsement required for transportation ofclients as necessary.

Equipment/Technology: 

• Basiccomputer skills are required for email, timekeeping, and documentation in theelectronic medical record.

QUALIFICATIONS - InnerchangeCounselor

Education: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Science orrelated fields.

Experience / Knowledge: 

• Experience working with adolescents in social services fieldis preferred.
• Experience working in the court system and providingliaison services with schools and other community resources is also beneficial.

Physical:

• Minimalexposure to biological hazards.
• Hearing of normal/soft tones and close eye work.
• Valid driver's license.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
• CPR and First Aidcertification required (training provided).
• Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbalde-escalation techniques.
• Applicants should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
• Clinical staff may be required to get an F endorsement to transportclients as necessary.
