Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 Salary/year

Description

The Program Director will be responsible for managing the overall program operations according to DYCD and HSVS guidelines. The Program Director will ensure all participants are participating in engaging and safe educational and recreational activities during program hours. They will oversee that the program is complying with DYCD contractual obligations, and is the primary liaison to the funding sources and HSVS executive management, and other stakeholders. 

 Responsibilities :

  • Experience and\or knowledge of NYCHA, DYCD, DOH, DOE, or child care policy and procedures
  • Attendance and participation at DYCD meetings, workshops, and required trainings.
  • Community outreach, and collaboration with stakeholders such as Resident Association, NCO’s, elected officials, other Cornerstones and CBO programs. 
  • Maintaining all required NYC licensure for program operations.
  • Budget oversight, including development, submission and monitoring program budgets in collaboration with executive management and HeartShare fiscal department.
  • Uses positive approaches when handling difficult situations.
  • Serves as role model for program participants. Conducts self in a professional manner at all times.
  • Remains sensitive and responsive to cultural differences of program participants and staff.
  • Participates in in-service trainings and on-site workshops as required for professional growth and development. Attends external trainings and workshops at direction of management.
  • Represents the organization both within and outside of the work environment in a manner that promotes the mission, vision and values of the agency. Personally, adheres to organizational mission, vision and values, in addition to all other agency policies and procedures.
  • Organization and implementation of program operations and contractual obligations including preparation and submission of monthly deliverables, incident reports, work scopes, budgets, and planning of events and programming.
  • Assuring quality of services and safety of all program participants.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Education, or other equivalent field
  • Two years of experience working with children or in youth development. 
  • S95, F07, Food Handler Certificate, CPR/RTE, First-Aid, Mandated Reporter, CPR and RTE certification preferred
  • Experience in working with diverse communities, and knowledge of multicultural issues including race, class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender expression, etc.
  • HSVS requires all new hires to provide proof of vaccination prior to their start date. Employees who require an accommodation for medical or religious reasons should notify Human Resources.
