As a pharmacist, you will assist customers with their health care needs by dispensing prescriptions, providing clinical services and excellent customer service while supervising pharmacy associates.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the efficient operation of the pharmacy, within all legal and accreditation/certification requirements and applicable facility policies, procedures, codes, and standards.
• Keep up to date on current state laws and federal rules.
• Review appropriateness of prescribed medication therapy.
• Provide medication information and consultation to patients, nurses, and medical staff.
• Interpret prescriptions, compound, and dispense medications.
• Supervise and authorize the work of technicians, externs, interns, and support staff.
• Prepare and maintains all necessary records on medication therapy, prescriptions, patient charges, medical records, and inventory.
• Perform cognitive clinical pharmacy services to facilities, document findings and actions in accordance with facility standards.
• May assist in the training of technicians, externs, interns, and other department staff.
• Serve as a role model and mentor to technicians, students, residents, and new clientele.
• Will assist with vaccine clinics
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be currently licensed as a Registered Pharmacist with the State that is hiring
• Long term care experience preferred
• CPR certified
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong computer skills and pharmacy software knowledge
• Organizational skills
• Reliable, dependable, problem solver and can work efficiently in a stressful environment
• Ability to identify and prioritize daily workload
• Availability to work on call
