Position Summary:

Heartland Business Systems is a fast-paced growth-oriented IT professional services company expanding rapidly throughout the upper Midwest. The Business Systems Analyst role is critical in driving business performance and improving operational efficiency by analyzing business requirements, recommending/maintaining software solutions, and performing programmatic changes. This ideal candidate will bring a blend of business acumen and technical proficiency to role.

Roles and Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:

• Help steer operation objectives for business systems by evaluating business function, collecting data, evaluating outputs and reporting. 
• Research new technologies and the applicability of those technologies to meet HBS’s business needs.
• Implement tools and processes that streamline HBS current workflow. Be instrumental in advising the management team when updates need to be completed on internal applications, and provide a recommendation, based on knowledge and expertise of the solution and internal needs. 
• Optimize / streamline systems to improve cycle time, drive efficiency and ensure quality data.
• Actively participate in triaging complex software issues, in a timely manner.
• Maintain and upgrade current software systems.
• Provide technical leadership with regard to scalable, secure, and optimally performing solutions.
• Governance assuring compliance to standards through source code, database, and architectural reviews.
• Manage internal application projects, to be delivered on time, as outlined.
• Understand and guide others on scaling solutions to the HBS budget and requirements.
• Work closely with HBS leadership teams and resources to leverage appropriate skillsets as required.
• Drive the maintenance of all applications with Internal IT and understand the operation of all software utilized inside of HTG.
• Communicate to all parties involved in projects, as required.
• Add a Programmer’s mindset and an understanding of API’s when managing internal application projects.

Required Experience:

• Minimum 2 years implementing and maintaining software-based applications
• Knowledge of SQL databases
• SQL programming to include the ability to write stored procedures

Preferred Experience: 

• Connectwise Suite of products
• Microsoft Dynamics GP
• Thorough knowledge of Rest API’s and ability to use APIs to connect systems
• Microsoft Power BI reporting

Preferred Skills, Education and/ or Certifications:

• College Degree
