Heart to Heart Home Care is Hiring a Day Program Director Near East Orange, NJ

Conditions:Based out of headquarters officeMay require travel throughout state for purposes of program developmentMay require evening hours

Qualifications Required:Must be 21 years of age or olderBachelor’s degree with 3 or more years in field of developmental disabilities and 3 or more years in supervisory role

General Statement of Duties:The Program Director (PD) will assist in development of new day program and oversee the implementation of programs at Heart to Heart. This will result in programs and services that accomplish the mission and goals as well as meet consumer needs. The Program Director will oversee accountability systems such as Continuous Quality Improvement, Management Information System, and the Safety Committee, ensuring routine consumer feedback is obtained and required internal and external reports are prepared and submitted. Programs will meet licensing, funding and accreditation requirements. The Program Director supervises Manager and program staff and ensures all program staff are receiving appropriate training and direction.

Supervises: Program Manager and Other Staff and Interns as Assigned by Executive Director

Essential Job Functions:Oversees Implementation of ProgramConveys organizational culture to program staffHelps prepare strategic and annual plansOversees daily implementation of programs ensuring programs are fully staffed and high-quality services are delivered.Writes program manuals that incorporate each program’s policies and procedures.Ensures programs comply with agency policies, procedures and priorities, and operate efficiently and effectively within approved budgets; assists with monitoring of expenditures.Ensures programs operate in accordance with licensing, accreditation and funding requirements.Ensures directors and managers promptly respond to consumer and family complaints, requests and concerns as needed, whereby problems are promptly addressed and consumer needs are met in a timely manner.Responds to emergency situations in programs as necessary; may assist with on call in the absence of program directors.Manages intake, referral and information inquiries; oversees Heart to Heart’s intake process resulting in filling program vacancies as soon as practicable and directs potential consumers to appropriate programs; prepares report on intakes and referrals and ensures new consumers are added to ICQIS systemOversees Quality ControlHelps set up, monitor, and analyze accountability systems, including Heart to Heart’s computerized Information and Continuous Quality Improvement System (ICQIS), and ensures programs meet licensing, funding, and accreditation requirements.Reviews and ensures on-going use by staff of Continuous Quality Improvement efforts.Oversees the Safety Committee and all of its related responsibilities including conducting investigations.Ensures program records, consumer surveys and other mechanisms are used to account for program efforts and to continuously improve programs.Prepares and submits required internal and external reports on all program aspects including levels of service, continuous quality improvement and performance indicators, and consumer satisfaction surveys.

SupervisionSupervises program managers as assigned through routine meetings where in assistance, support and guidance are provided.Oversees development of annual work plans and their implementation.Ensures staff meet annual program goals and individualized performance goals are addressed.Coaches managers to provide quality supervision to their staff.Ensures staff receive on the job, mandatory and professional development trainings and attend staff meetings and agency functions.

TrainingPrepares annual plan for training and coordinates training to ensure mandatory and elective training of staff occurs in a timely manner.Provides training as appropriate

RelationshipsIs an active member of the agency’s management team.Maintains positive relationships with outside funders and collaborators.Works with board members and other volunteers as requested by the Executive Director.Cooperateswith Heart to Heart Home Care and Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) staff during any inspection or investigation.Performsother duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
