The Phlebotomist is responsible for the proper identification, collection and labeling of blood specimens.
Responsibilities
• Order all tests in the computer.• Have knowledge of laboratory tests and anticoagulants.• Obtain blood specimens by skin puncture or venipuncture using appropriate technique and maintaining integrity of specimen in relation to the test to be performed.• Perform basic EKG's when needed.• Properly identify, collect and label blood specimens.• Organize and record specimen collection.• Possess knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for all ages. • Accurately interpret physician's orders• Exhibit calm responsiveness to emergency or stressful situations.
Qualifications
• Prefer license: State of FL phlebotomist• Minimum twelve (12) months experience in a medical or health care environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
