Your Role As a HealthStreamer
Position Summary
HealthStream is looking for an experienced, technical, self-motivated Associate Product Manager to join our reporting and analytics team. We're seeking someone with strong technical experience and skills who will formulate and communicate the big picture and delight in being in the weeds to create business requirements, prioritize a backlog, and work with our development teams to deliver solutions. This leader will be responsible for delighting HealthStream's customers and partners by modernizing our reporting tools and applications.
The Associate Product Manager will take business ownership of our reporting tools and applications and be expected to lead design and implementation of its release, growth, and iteration. Since our reporting tools and applications touch many other products, the job would require deep interaction with other product managers, customer experience teams, sales and marketing as well as executive stakeholders. The successful candidate will ensure that the engineering teams are positioned to execute on the product roadmap.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ROADMAP AND VISION
Use qualitative and quantitative research techniques and user testing to define a clear product vision
Create and maintain a product roadmap and act as subject matter expert on our internal systems
Gather requirements, prioritize features and maintain a backlog for engineering teams
Conduct market, competitor and customer research to gather insight, assess market opportunities and make the case for investment
P&L / SALES
Lead all aspects of the P&L, including budgeting and forecasting
Produce well-researched and well-founded product pricing, as well as appropriate incentives to promote sales, as appropriate
COMMUNICATION AND THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
Represent HealthStream as a thought leader, communicating effectively with internal personnel and evangelizing to customers on all aspects of the portfolio
Collaborate with product development, product marketing, sales, success managers and other functions to optimize growth and achieve success
Guide multiple cross-functional teams as the portfolio/product visionary to ensure customer-focused product development and ongoing optimization
Communicate effectively with leaders and executives on all aspects of vision, execution, and KPIs of his/her product portfolio
Provide input into corporate strategy and acquisitions
Initiate and manages ongoing relationships with partners, communicating relevant KPIs, leading annual growth strategies, and optimizing satisfaction
Effectively work with remote teams.
What You Will Need to be Successful
Education, Experience and Knowledge Required
Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or marketing or related experience
At least three (3) years' experience in a business or product management role
Proven track record of defining, launching and iterating best-in-class products
Experience in the healthcare industry strongly preferred
Experience in a SaaS business strongly preferred
Experience with enterprise reporting and analytics strongly preferred
Skills and Abilities Required
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail
Profit and loss management, budgeting and forecasting
Proficiency in the interpretation of business-related data and KPIs
Business development and negotiations
Product portfolio strategy and lifecycle management
People management, including the ability to build and grow a team and work with diverse skillsets and backgrounds
Proficiency in the use of technical applications for business purposes; specifically, the Microsoft Office suite and CRMs
Good working knowledge of SCRUM software development methodologies such as Agile
Good working knowledge of road mapping/defect management/feature prioritization software
Works independently, exhibiting a high degree of personal ownership and accountability
Communicates effectively with various levels of management and customers to express vision, goals, objectives and strategies
Establishes high degree of trust and credibility internally, with business partners, and with customers
Respectfully works within a multi-disciplinary, matrixed team with a focus on meeting organizational and team goals
Empathetic to buyers, customers, users and sales resources
Displays critical thinking ability while managing multiple projects with the appropriate prioritization and focus
