Description
SUMMARY
The Housekeeping Lead is a working supervisor by providing custodial and housekeeping services within the established procedures and policies of the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and functions, as outlined herein, are intended to be representative of the type of tasks performed within this classification. They are not listed in any order of importance. The omission of specific statements of the duties or functions does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
•Ensures outside buildings are cleared of litter and picks it up as appropriate.
•Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
•Assists Operations Manager with coordination of housekeeping staff and assists with preparation and service of coffee and refreshments for assigned functions; follows up with cleaning.
•Ensures all hallways, washrooms, lavatories, rooms, drinking fountains, offices, dining room, entrances' cleaning daily.
•Ensures that all linen is properly washed and dry for events.
•Ensures that the general cleaning and disinfecting is performed using approved solvents and appropriate tools.
•Ensures the housekeeping staff is maintaining building interiors by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures, washing windows, counters, walls and woodwork.
•Ensures the removal of trash by emptying trash containers; transports materials to disposal area; recycles materials.
•Is aware of, reports, and removes possible safety hazards.
•Maintains "customer" confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
•No Convent cleaning to be done.
•Performs and maintains electronic inventory log with par levels of housekeeping supplies, Laundry Linen Supplies, concierge supplies and Tablecloths.
•Performs seasonal work surrounding special meetings and events.
•Prepares written electronic order of housekeeping and laundry supplies for the Operations Manager.
•Prepares and assists the Operations Manager with performance of scheduled monthly, semiannual, or annual janitorial duties, i.e., floor waxing, interior window washing, carpet cleaning, etc., as directed by Operations Manager.
•Reports mechanical malfunctions for service to Maintenance Lead.
•Preceptor for new staff training.
•Answer complaints regarding housekeeping services.
•Performs other duties as requested and needed. Maintains building interiors by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures, washing windows, counters, walls and woodwork.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must possess necessary supervisory skills, the ability to perform outlined task with minimum supervision, be self-motivated and have knowledge of janitorial services and their applications. Have the ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters. Must successfully pass Diocesan background screening and Safe Environment Training.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
The ability to communicate, listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Strong command of both written and spoken English language.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The working hours of this position are not limited to an 8-hour day. This person will need to be available in the evening and weekends, as needed. Must be willing to work in conditions of stress and function well under pressure.
PHYSICAL and SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing 15 feet and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (30 pounds) and climb step-stools or ladders.
A review of this position has excluded the marginal functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. All duties and responsibilities are essential job functions and requirements are subject to possible modifications to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent(s) will possess the abilities and aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.
