The Engagement Group’s creative team is a collaborative team of experts, charged with ideating and executing compelling visual stories and experiences that give a voice to science and bring data to life.

This position has option to be onsite in our NY, CT, PA offices or fully remote. Must be able to accommodate Eastern Standard hours. The candidate must be able to work independently from their home, and maintain consistent contact with their manager, fellow EG members, and their account and scientific team using virtual communication platforms such as Zoom and Teams. May be required to attend select business meetings and events.

Role Overview: Art Director

What we’re looking for:

The Design Team is looking to fill an important and highly visible role–a senior designer skilled in brand identity design, with the ability to creatively problem solve through information visualization, digital, print, presentation, and exhibition (booths) design—coupled with a strong desire to push beyond the norm of what’s expected in this specialism.

Staying up to date with what’s trending in the world of design and technology, and finding ways to fold external sources of inspiration into their work, is what our ideal candidate would look like, while being able to spot an out-of-place pixel a mile off.

We’re a team of dedicated and skilled designers in multiple time zones, and we love to collaborate and find ways to better ourselves and the way we work. This role would be a great fit for someone who thrives in a dynamic working environment, whether they are working on their own or as part of a larger project team.

We use various design software to bring our ideas to life, so you are expected to be an expert in Adobe Illustrator, with a solid understanding of InDesign and Photoshop. PowerPoint design skills are of great use in our environment, and Figma familiarity would also be desirable.

In this role, you would oversee and lead the design, execution, and development of multiple design projects, so you must possess great hands-on design and technical skills and the ability to problem solve and think strategically.

Skills:

  • Exceptional brand identity design skills
  • Ability to create various forms visual communication through mastery of composition, typography, color and layout
  • Confident presentation skills and the ability to sell in an idea
  • Have a professional, pro-active, and positive attitude that sets an example to others
  • Can work collaboratively, independently and lead as required
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, comfortable in PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with:
    • Figma
    • XD
    • Mac OS
  • Relevant qualification in Graphic Design, Art, or equivalent experience
  • Any knowledge and skills in the following are desirable although not essential: After Affects, HTML, CSS and JS knowledge
  • A sense of curiosity!

We expect you to keep abreast of the latest creative and digital trends.
