HSNT is seeking Medical Receptionists that are passionate about helping others by providing care, education, and resources in a community health setting to patients and families that may have very limited options for their medical needs.

Our current Medical Receptionists love HSNT because we are truly able to make a difference in the lives of the patients that we serve. Our Medical Receptionists become a part of a tight-knit, interdisciplinary medical team focused on providing high quality care to members of our community. Individuals that are successful in this role tend to be customer-focused and detail oriented, possess a true desire to serve a diverse population of patients, and have experience in a medical office and/or call center environment.

Our Medical Receptionists help connect patients with services and medical care by scheduling appointments for our medical providers in multiple clinical sites and provide information about services and programs offered by our agency. In joining HSNT as a Medical Receptionist, you’ll be stepping into a strong, established team that is passionate about their work and are focused on learning and developing their skills.

A day in the life of our Medical Receptionist may look like this:

• Answers the telephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel.
• Accurately record caller messages and make calls as directed by the medical providers.
• Schedules appointments and enters appointment date into computerized scheduler according to established procedures.
• Greets and directs patients and visitors.
• Provides information regarding clinic services and qualifications for the low income sliding scale fee structure.
• Register client according to clinic policies.
• Verify payer coverage.
• Collects payments from clients and reconciles daily cash reports.
• Maintains forms and office supplies for front desk activities
• Practices OSHA safety standards
• Maintains a clean and organized waiting room.
• May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

We ask that our Medical Receptionists have the following:

• Education: High School diploma or GED equivalency
• Customer service experience in a healthcare environment – 1 year preferred
• Be able and available to work flexible day shift hours, 8am-5pm, 8:30am-5:30pm, and the occasional 10am-7pm to support clinic operating hours
• Excellent telephone skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Bilingual, Spanish/English preferred, but not required
• Friendly and professional demeanor
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft products.
