HCDPBC is seeking a project management intern to work under the supervision of the PMO. The selected intern will complete a 12-15 week project assigned by their supervisor in either IT, Operations, or Construction in any of the above service areas. During the internship period, the student will gain knowledge of project life cycles, stakeholder management, scheduling, budget, RTM, and change management. Responsibilities will include effective meetings governance including production of agendas, effective note-taking, completion of action rails, project charters, and project management plans
Essential Functions:
Engage in shadowing opportunities in Health Care Administration at the Lakeside Medical Center and C.L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics.
Identify, recommend and implement process improvement with assigned areas.
Identify and communicate problems, issues and risks as they arise to the Project Manager and PMO Leaders; recommend solutions/next steps to resolve.
Receive and understand direction, ask questions when appropriate, and manage time to work effectively and independently.
Actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge and improve skills; participates and attend related educational and training events.
Act in a manner that protects the integrity of the mission of the Health Care District’s mission.
Adhere to Project Management and Continuous Improvement policies and procedures.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. A minimum GPA of 3.0 with 15 credit hours completed in Project Management related coursework
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Highly organized
Adaptable to changing environments
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio preferred
Addition Requirements:
Must be current resident of Palm Beach County
Ability to provide proof of Covid vaccination
Ability to pass a Level 1 background check
Ability to work 15-20 hours/week during the internship period
