Mental Health Specialist - Hammond, LA

Position Summary: The Mental Health Specialist is responsible for providing approved MHR services to recipients assigned to them.

Qualifications:

Meets the following criteria:

1. Has a Bachelor's Degree in one of the following areas: Psychology, Psychiatry, Social Work or Counseling.

Major Task List:

1. Provides community support counseling to recipients, as assigned.
2. Accepts assignment as Primary Community Support Worker and performs responsibly in this role.
3. May provide Group Psycho social Skills Training to recipients, as assigned.
4. Participates in staff training assignments, as requested.
5. Submit accurate and complete weekly counseling notes and service logs.
6. Participates in the agency's Performance Improvement initiative.
7. Performs other non-direct service activities as requested by CEO, COO, or Program Director.
8. Accepts supervision from LMHP and agency management team.
9. Participates in weekly/monthly supervision meetings.
10. Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with other clinical/administrative staff, as needed for client related issues.
11. Functions well in a crisis, using good judgment and keeping appropriate staff informed.
12. Assess, review and/or monitor a recipient's status in relation to rehabilitation.
13. Identify, report, and maintain weekly appointments for community resources.
14. Effectively plans work.
15. Works independently, as needed.

Job Types: Full-time or Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
