Description

HCA Solutions is currently seeking qualified candidates to work as Pharmacists with the Department of Veterans Affairs Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy located at 3675 E. Britannia Drive, Tucson, AZ. This is a contracted full time position, the Outpatient pharmacy has a weekly average of 410,000 prescriptions weekly.

The services performed by the Pharmacist shall include but is not limited to:

• Reviewing and verifying appropriateness of prescriptions
• Reviewing patient medical records for allergies
• Filling prescriptions
• Physically checking prescriptions filled by authorized medical staff, including the pharmacy technician and prescribing clinicians, and documenting the verification beside the medical record entry (prescription)
• Ensuring local and national formularies are utilized by the clinicians
• Maintaining adequate inventory of medications
• Providing information to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee on a quarterly basis or as needed
• Serving as a resource for the clinicians regarding pharmacological issues/concerns
• Providing patient education to the inmate population
• Completing administrative duties such as adverse drug reaction reporting, notifying the Clinical Director or their designee of discrepancies in prescriptions
• Conducting pill lines as needed.
• Prepare recommended supply lists to order pharmaceuticals, maintain the pharmacy areas in a clean and orderly fashion,
• Maintain stock of appropriate forms utilized in the pharmacy department, and shall, in the absence of the Pharmacist, maintain the Pharmacy operation, within guidelines governing the duties of Pharmacy Technicians.
• Prescriptions must be reviewed by a Pharmacist prior to dispensing to the inmate population.

Pharmacist Minimum Qualifications:

• Current, unencumbered Pharmacist license in the state of Arizona
• A Valid Driver’s License.
• Proof of Pharmacy training
• Proof of current TB test within the last year
• Proof of all current vaccinations including COVID
