Description

HCA Solutions is currently seeking qualified Pharmacists to work in the Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) located at 5000 S. 13th St., Leavenworth, KS, 66048. This is a full time contracted position with an average weekly production rate of 290,000 prescriptions.

The services performed by the Pharmacist shall include but is not limited to:

• Reviewing and verifying appropriateness of prescriptions
• Reviewing patient medical records for allergies
• Filling prescriptions
• Physically checking prescriptions filled by authorized medical staff, including the pharmacy technician and prescribing clinicians, and documenting the verification beside the medical record entry (prescription)
• Ensuring local and national formularies are utilized by the clinicians
• Maintaining adequate inventory of medications
• Providing information to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee on a quarterly basis or as needed
• Serving as a resource for the clinicians regarding pharmacological issues/concerns
• Providing patient education to the inmate population
• Completing administrative duties such as adverse drug reaction reporting, notifying the Clinical Director or their designee of discrepancies in prescriptions
• Conducting pill lines as needed.
• Prepare recommended supply lists to order pharmaceuticals, maintain the pharmacy areas in a clean and orderly fashion,
• Maintain stock of appropriate forms utilized in the pharmacy department, and shall, in the absence of the Pharmacist, maintain the Pharmacy operation, within guidelines governing the duties of Pharmacy Technicians.
• Prescriptions must be reviewed by a Pharmacist prior to dispensing to the inmate population.

Requirements

Pharmacist Minimum Qualifications:

• Current, unencumbered Pharmacist license in the state of Kansas
• A Valid Driver’s License.
• Proof of Pharmacy training
• Proof of current TB Test within the last year
• Proof of all current vaccinations including COVID
