HBT Labs, a subsidiary of American Regent, Inc., develops and commercializes complex injectable generic and 505(b)(2) pharmaceutical products leveraging its technical expertise and capital resources. Formed in 2013, the Company launched its first commercial product in the US in 2020 and will launch its next two products in the US in the next three years, while developing several new pipeline products. HBT maintains two facilities in Brea, California for both R&D and GMP manufacturing.

Job Purpose/Summary

The Accounts Payable Accountant reports to the Controller and performs a wide range of accounting and administrative duties to support the accounting and finance department. While primary responsibility will be to process invoices and payments, this position will be responsible for other finance department functions as well.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Creates purchase orders.
• Responsible for three-way matching
• Facilitates payment of vendors.
• Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts.
• Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
• Calculates and reports sales tax based on paid invoices.
• Receives credit card receipts and reconciles against corporate credit cards monthly.
• Distributes asset tags and ensures company’s asset tag sheet status current.
• Maintains accounting department files and records
• Enters information into accounting data entry system.
• Assists with special accounting projects as needed.
• Interacts with vendors and department managers when processing a resolution of account discrepancies.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned. 

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
• 3 to 5 years of accounting experience preferred, including cost accounting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality of information
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs
• Able to learn other accounting software systems, experience with SAP B1 a plus.
• Must have cost accounting knowledge/experience
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records
