Job Description

Job Title:Community Relations Director

Reports To:RegionalDirector of Sales and Operations

Location:Hawthorne Inn of Lakeland

Status:Exempt

SUMMARY

The purpose of the community relations director is to coordinate and perform duties of marketing and communicating the products and services of Hawthorne Assisted, Independent Living and Memory Care. Including but not limited to: Physician’s and physician groups, community associations, senior groups, ethnic clubs and groups, churches, and individuals. Completes various clerical tasks. Takes the lead in mentoring staff in best practices for communication of the mission of the community to clients and potential clients throughout our service area.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Increase market acceptance and brand awareness.

2. Participate in relevant industry events, business groups, forums and associations, as well as

facilitating and participating in Hawthorne Property marketing events as assigned.

3. Expected to track information, compile data and reports to assist with desired community occupancy goals.

4. Educate the community, prospective residents, families, and employees on services available.

5. Generate leads and qualify prospects adhering to established criteria reflected in AHCA and Hawthorne Assisted and Independent Living guidelines.

6. Facilitate introductions and relationship building among key contacts and resources.

7. Develop New Business and referral sources. Identify and communicate relevant information needed or desired for new product development opportunities.

8. Ensure tour readiness for community and resident apartments; communicate to appropriate team members any needs that help support tours and room readiness

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to work independently, demonstrating good judgement.

Ability to use computers is required. (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)

Ability to work evening, weekends and travel frequently.

Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and accuracy are a must.

Strong interpersonal skills, respectful, and courteous nature.

Desire and ability to learn.

Demonstrate teamwork and effective communication.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma.

Degree in Marketing with medical background preferred but not required.

Minimum 2 years sales experience within industry or related industry.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate in English and understand and follow written and oral instructions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Effective written and oral communication skills are essential.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess and maintain a safe, valid driver license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to blood borne pathogens. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and toxic caustic chemicals. The environment is characteristic of a facility in which healthcare is provided to the frail elderly. The noise level is usually moderate.
