HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union is Hiring a Chief Technology Officer Near Honolulu, HI

Position Summary: Financial Services as an industry is quickly shifting heavily into the technology space. The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Hawaii USA Federal Credit Union will play a critical role in evolving and leading the credit union into the future of the industry. Our new CTO will be seen as a respected expert on a wide range of IT technologies/architecture/security and will be able to evangelize them to both IT staff and nontechnical business peers. We’re looking for a CTO to modernize existing technologies and operations as well as bring new ideas and have a strong vision about the future opportunities for IT while accommodating for the size and complexity of the organization. We are ready to explore bringing more innovative technologies into our organization to tackle the next stage of transformation. Key Responsibilities: Define the technology strategy, vision and roadmap in alignment with the credit union’s business strategy Identify emerging technologies that will help the credit union deliver its business strategy Lead innovation to explore how these emerging technologies can be transformative to the business Leverage trendspotting to anticipate how technological and non-technological trends could help the credit union prepare for and navigate change and disruption Decide what technologies to invest in and procure, to include producing business cases with measurable outcomes Evolve the enterprise/system/application/data architecture to support the introduction of new technologies that will enable the business strategy Assess potential risks in bringing new and emerging technologies into the credit union and determine mitigation techniques Manage the SaaS vendors and hardware/endpoint vendors Drive the modernization of the technology infrastructure, this could include edge computing, containerization, etc. Define, communicate and be accountable to a mix of OKRs, ODMs, and KPIs Establish and maintain service levels and monitoring for IT operations through IT service management (ITSM), vendor management (VM), network & infrastructure, and security Education and Experience: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related field OR professional work equivalent in private sector IT organization 10-15 years of technology experience; at least 7-10 years of management experience; preferably at an executive level position Wide understanding of IT technology and vendors combined with the ability to evangelize new developments to both technical and nontechnical audiences Staff management, ideally running a department of 10 or more individuals with an annual budget more than $1 million Experience designing and implementing technical architecture standards and integrations Strong business acumenPreferred: MBA and experience in financial services Experience managing cloud, IT infrastructure and cyber-security preferred Management of vendor relationships and contract negotiation Competencies: Using data to enable decisive strategy focused on outcomes/results Ability to effectively communicate and inspire, building trust to drive change Use of enterprise architecture (EA) methodologies to design/guide/integrate solutions Experience with modular architecture a plus Use of mitigants for information security (IS) to enable secure business operations rather than prohibiting business operations High level of complex business problem solving, troubleshooting and project management skillsConstant focus on optimization and continuous improvement Working Conditions: Flexible working is available, onsite work is preferred due to the ability to collaborate with peers Onsite fitness is available Generous Healthcare and Retirement benefits available Some travel may be required to keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry specific challenges Hawaii USA FCU is an equal opportunity employer and promotes a workplace environment where there is no discrimination whatsoever but especially based on gender, race ethnicity, national origin, age, religion, sexual orientation or identity, marital status, family commitments, veteran status or disability.
