Job Purpose
The Sr. Product Manager is ultimately responsible for the successful definition, deployment, strategic fit, profitability (P&L), and sales/channel support for assigned complex and strategic products and/or services for Cincinnati Bell. The Sr. Product Manager is responsible for the evaluation, execution, process definition, and financial performance of the product line relative to corporate goals. Identifying and recommending product/pricing strategies to acquire new customers; upsell, cross-sell, and retain existing customers; and increase revenue and profit while balancing activations, churn, and ARPU across all consumer products.
Essential Functions
Development and communication of product roadmaps and plans in conjunction with a variety of functional elements. Leadership of cross-functional teams within the business in support of new product launches or existing product process improvement. Leads cross-functional teams across the business (Marketing, IT, Call Center, Sales, Finance, Legal, Network Operations, Vendors, Purchasing, etc.) to ensure successful implementation and continuous improvement of product initiatives and programs to increase sales, reduce churn, increase revenue or margin- 55%
Product / Service Life Cycle Management - 15%
- Execution on Revenue, EBITDA, cash flow, margin, & customer sat objectives
- Entry/Exit/Migration Strategies for Product/Service Set
- Sales Channel Selection
Management of strategic partner relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and margin retention - 15%
Development and maintenance of competitive and industry intelligence in support of product/service - 10 %
General Administrative tasks - 5 %
Experience
- 6 to 7 years of experience
- 6 years of Product Management, Product Development, Sales, Sales Support, Operations, Finance, or Marketing Process Improvement Experience
- Process Improvement Experience
- Experience defining/improving processes
- Vendor Management Experience
- Contract Negotiations
- Experience defining detailed product requirements
Education
- Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- A Master's Degree or equivalent preferred
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Subject Matter Expertise in their product category
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Excellent analytical, planning, and process development skills, strong business judgment, high level of initiative, and complex analyses into high-impact, easy-to-follow presentations
- Understanding of financial statements and business case planning
- Experience dealing with outside suppliers and vendors
- Working knowledge of communications industry services, competitive providers, and trends in the telecommunications industry
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
- Ability to function as a team player and consensus builder
- Must be a team player, able to handle ambiguity, anticipate and react to changes quickly
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Leads work teams (assigns, coordinates, and checks work) for employees performing similar work. May supervise exempt employees
