The Corporate Communications Intern is an integral part of Hawaiian Host Group’s strategic initiatives to become one of Hawaii’s best places to work. The Corporate Communications Intern will be involved with, but not limited to organizing events, participating in internal committees, and creating social media posts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in communicating news and information in a compelling way to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist the Corporate Communications team at in-person, online, and hybrid events/meetings.
  • Brainstorm, research & coordinate event venues, swag, suppliers, etc. for culture initiatives and summarize findings. 
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order.
  • Co-develop and design presentations, as well as print and digital materials for events/meetings.
  • Ideate different ways to promote the HHG brand on various social media platforms.
  • Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns.
  • Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability.
  • Help create and edit short-form videos that showcase HHG’s workplaces, events, and culture.
  • Participate in culture committee meetings to assist in making HHG the best place to work.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required for the position.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Must be a college student and currently enrolled at an accredited university, pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, PR (Public Relations), or Business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly reliable and driven self-starter who proactively communicates progress.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eye for design and basic knowledge of graphic design fundamentals. 
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office (mainly PowerPoint), Adobe Photoshop, and a video-editing software of choice. 
  • Knows the ins and outs of all major social media platforms and is aware of the latest trends.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
