ABOUT THIS ROLE:

You will be joining a small, experienced Information Security team tasked with guiding and carrying out Haven Tech’s security agenda. You will be collaborating closely with your team, as well as working hand-in-hand with employees across the broader organization to ensure that security best practices are a standard part of the way our company operates. In addition to strong technical skills, this role will require out-of-the-box thinking and thoughtfulness about how and why you do what you do. The job will be varied and challenging, using the latest tools, techniques, and apps. The ideal candidate will require experience in SRE, with a security based mindset or feeling inclined to get into the security space.

• Your experience covers a gamut of modern tools, systems and patterns which have helped you achieve automation, productivity and stability in an organization. 
• You care about up time, SLA's, security and availability while minimizing risk to our customers. 
• You have consistently made choices that positively impact all of engineering. Engineering excellence is a collective set of choices we make as technologists-whether to increase code coverage or ship a product on time, investing in developer productivity vs saving $$$.
• You have the ability to balance tactical items against long term value. You demonstrate strong judgment across a multitude of situations and drive decision making taking all factors into account.
• You can work and live at various levels, zoom-in and out as the situation demands. You stay connected to the details while possessing the ability to see the big picture.
• You have hands-on experience across various platforms and can navigate your way across a complex and rapidly changing technology landscape and stay on top of industry trends.

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS in Computer Science or Related
• 2 years experience as a SRE/Infrastructure/Security
• Experience in deploying, supporting and building infrastructure for highly distributed and scalable systems living in AWS/GCP or Azure
• Expertise in administering ElasticSearch/OpenSearch
• Expertise with IaaC (we use Terraform)
• Container experience (e.g docker)
• Scripting experience (preferable python, javascript)
• Understanding code best practices and git versioning
• Experience in explaining complex problems and solutions to people 
• Experience in investigating security issues in a large distributed cloud environment
• Authorized to work in the US with or without sponsorship
• Excellent communication and work ethic

PREFERRED:

• AWS Security tooling (AWS Config, GuardDuty, WAF/FMS, Inspector, Macie, IAM)
• API Gateway, Secrets Management
• Gitlab pipelines
• Kubernetes knowledge and security
• CIS Benchmarking experience
• Security monitoring experience
• Agile project management
