Hartman is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer consultant to build and maintain a new cloud strategy and infrastructure and complete a transition from on-prem services to container-based AWS.Responsibilities:

Passion and ability to communicate DevOps principles and the importance of their role in the SDLC to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Designing, implementing, and supporting CI/CD and/or DevOps solutions and architecture patterns.
Troubleshoot and resolve network, automation pipelines, and infrastructure issues
Properly configure security services hosted on AWS EKS and on-prem.
Install and configure software, gather test-stage data, and perform debugging.
Work on configuration management/orchestration suite, know where it's broken, work towards fixing them and explore new alternatives.
Develop/maintain documentation for operational systems, configuration, or other procedures.
Migrate on-prem services to AWS containers.
Monitor and troubleshoot web and backend applications.

Requirements

5 years in DevOps using test automation and CI/CD tools, containers, cloud infrastructure, and other modern technologies, CI/CD pipeline set up from scratch as DevOps lead.
Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as Fargate, containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology.
Hands-on experience in building and administering various Kubernetes, Docker, and container platforms (OpenShift, ECS, EKS, AKS)
Cloud development and operation experience with AWS compute server options, AWS database and storage options, and AWS security options
Comfort administering Linux and SQL servers (we use CentOS and MySQL/MariaDB)
Advanced knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Perl, PHP, and Java and writing code and scripts, experience with Golang would be a value-add
Experience configuring and troubleshooting Internet infrastructure
Experience with the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices, change management, configuration policies, and ITSM in general
Knowledge of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls
Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats through configuring alerts and monitoring tools.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience, including senior management, and a proven ability to make remediation recommendations for both in-scope applications and other upstream/downstream dependencies
Nice-to-have: Experience with Nginx, SparkPost, Drupal, MongoDB, and writing Linux daemons.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of applicable experience
AWS Certification(s) such as Solutions Architect Pro, DevOps Engineer Pro, SysOps Admin, and Developer Associate are preferred but not required.
