Job description:

The Shipping Clerk must be able to perform efficiently in a warehouse and dispatch environment by handling incoming and outgoing deliveries. Outlined below are the essential duties and responsibilities of the Shipping Clerk:

• Collaborates and communicates with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment of products.
• Prints and distributes pick lists, packing slips, BOLs and other documentation necessary for the staging, packaging and shipping of outbound shipments.
• Inspects outbound packaging and if inadequate notifies the Shipping Supervisor for correction.
• Tracks, traces, and updates the status of both inbound and outbound shipments.
• Receives and verifies count of inbound shipment.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area.
• Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately.
• Engages with other employees, customers, vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
• Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.

Job and experience requirements:

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, as many packages are large
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Ability to maintain a high level of physicality for prolonged periods and working primarily standing
• Experience with software such as Microsoft Excel, Oracle and ProShip
• Interpersonal skills are essential, as working as a team is vital to maintaining an organized warehouse
• Experience using a forklift and professional forklift certification is strongly preferred
• Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to their importance
• Personal accountability and integrity are paramount, as a shipping clerk is tasked with an accurate accounting of all inventory
• Relevant customer service experience is a plus as shipping clerks interact with customers to replace lost or damaged goods
