The Opportunity

Harriman, a multi-disciplinary Architecture & Engineering firm, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Designer to join their Electrical Engineering practice in their Auburn, Maine location. As an engineering designer in this multi-discipline firm, you'll have the opportunity to support a wide range of projects with diverse clients throughout New England.

The role includes the design of power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, data, telecommunication, and security systems. Projects include renovations, existing system expansion, and new construction. Energy conservation, ease of operation, and visual comfort of building occupants are primary considerations.

The Electrical Engineering team at Harriman works with both public and private clients including municipal facilities, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, commercial and industrial development, and parks and recreational facilities.

This position would require supporting the Electrical Engineering design on projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer. If you are a collaborative, innovative and experienced electrical designer looking for a challenging design opportunity and desire to produce successful projects then this could be the opportunity for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Complete engineering calculations under the supervision of a Professional Engineer to develop the detailed design of electrical systems for buildings and site developments
  • Attend project meetings to provide Electrical coordination with other trades, share design strategies, and represent the Electrical team
  • Produce engineering documents and electrical specifications
  • Assist Engineers in work to support existing facility evaluations, technical reports and assessments, and cost estimates
  • Support projects during construction administrative phase

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with Revit preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting programs accepted
  • Experience with SKM or alternative arc flash analysis software preferred.
  • Approximately 1-2 years of relevant professional experience in electrical system design for buildings and site developments
