HARIBO of America is Hiring a Building Maintenance Technician Near Pleasant Prairie, WI

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, Located on-site at HARIBO’s brand new manufacturing plant in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, in the Kenosha metro area on I-94, the Building Maintenance Technician will perform a wide variety of general and preventative maintenance and repair work ensuring, focused on the building and grounds, ensuring our premises are always state of the art and reflect our high HARIBO standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assigned building maintenance tasks, making adjustments and repairs to optimize facility performance on assigned shift, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Responsible for safely, efficiently and with a focus on our high quality standards operating, maintaining and cleaning the assigned building maintenance areas.
  • Ensure in the repair of plumbing, painting, lighting, ballast replacement, hard surfaces, walls, and add, moves and changes to furniture and shelves.
  • Conduct maintenance and minor repairs of heating, ventilation systems, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment.
  • Ensure the repair and maintenance of lockable hardware such as doors, automatic electric doors, windows, lockers, and magnetic keying systems to ensure safety of facilities and maintain systems.
  • Assist in the writing of specification for repairs and new construction.
  • Meet regularly with management to determine priorities of improvement.
  • Regularly inspect property for needed improvements and upkeep.
  • Utilize and lead the work of the approved outside contractors for larger jobs.
  • Utilize continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
  • Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
  • Ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts.
  • Report any maintenance concerns or issues to management immediately.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • 2 years’ experience working in at least one relevant trade in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting.
  • Must be flexible with work scheduling as well as overtime.
  • Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in Building Maintenance, must be able to understand the need for Proper Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary to perform a specific function safely.
  • Requires computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft programs such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience in computerized work order systems.
  • Requires the development of a working knowledge of food safety and food quality standards and regulations such as SQF and environmental safety regulations along with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Requires basic mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, work with percentages, and have basic knowledge of algebra as well as make fine adjustments in equipment settings.
  • Requires teamwork ability; works well with others and communicates effectively with all associates.
