Hargrove is now seeking candidates for a Senior Electrical Engineer for a Direct Hire role in McIntosh, AL!

Summary: In this role, the ideal candidate will provide electrical engineering expertise through the Engineering Department at the McIntosh, AL site as the Lead Electrical Engineer. The selected individual will assure the proper design, purchase, and installation of electrical equipment according to regulatory and client standards. Areas of responsibility include executing capital projects for the site in the electrical discipline as well as providing technical expertise to operations and maintenance as required. Candidates may need to provide instrumentation engineering design support. The ideal candidate will have detailed experience working with 12.47 kV electrical distribution systems and basic instrumentation design, procurement, and installation. 

Responsibilities

• Leveraging your bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering to provide electrical design (scope, schedule, estimate) for small-to medium-sized capital projects. Generate engineering calculations required to support work.
• Serve as a resource or Electrical Lead for Engineering Partners on projects.
• Provide direct supervision of 2 designers.
• Provide direction for third-party designers at the site when required.
• Field verify and review electrical capabilities of existing systems for design activities on projects.
• Specify electrical equipment and materials while acquiring consensus with area Maintenance personnel.
• Obtain vendor quotes and provide technical support during procurement process on electrical bid packages.
• Provide quality checks on all electrical design packages and perform cross-checks between design disciplines.
• Inspect equipment at off-site locations when required, including factory acceptance tests.
• Responsible for construction support, check-out, commissioning, and start-up support on capital projects.
• Support Operations and Maintenance Groups as a technical resource for electrical infrastructure including the site’s 12.47 kV electrical distribution system.
• Interface with Procurement on contracts that are coordinated with area Maintenance and Operations personnel.
• Lead site Standards Teams in areas including electrical classification.
• Ensure compliance with codes and regulations and ensure that designs conform to applicable corporate, plant, and engineering policies and procedures.
• Ensure the site Arc Flash studies are complete and updated per client’s corporate guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with corporate, site, and NFPA 70E guidelines for employee electrical safety.
• Utilize on-site computer resources (e.g., SAP, SKM, Intools) to execute work processes.

Qualifications

• Our client recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent Formula for Success. A technical background in Electrical Engineering is preferred or may be required. Experience supporting technical needs in the industrial chemicals industry is highly preferred. Professional Engineering (P.E.) license is preferred.
