Hargrove Engineers Constructors is Hiring an Electrical Engineer III Near Waggaman, LA
Responsibilities
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Designs, tests, and oversees installation and maintenance of electrical distribution equipment used in a large-scale manufacturing facility. May use computer-assisted engineering and design software to perform assignments. Applies principles and techniques of electrical engineering to accomplish goals. Responsible for the overall condition and reliability of plant electrical systems to ensure a safe and continuous operation. Manages electrical maintenance and capital projects as needed.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Electrical design consistent with NEC, NFPA, and OSHA standards, project engineering to support capital improvement program, lead troubleshooting efforts to correct problems in the system and resolve all electrical equipment reliability issues and malfunctions.
- Coordinate and plan plant electrical shut downs for both minor and major plant outages.
- Provide consultations on matters relating to safety, reliability, and the selection of equipment for end-of-life replacement. This will involve working with the following equipment types:
- Voltage distribution networks which include medium and low voltage distribution systems (34.5 kv, 13.8 kv, 4.16 kv and 480 Volts)
- Substations, transformers, and switchgear
- 4,160 volt starters and protective relays
- Emergency generators, motors, UPS systems and batteries

- Possess excellent communication skills
- In depth knowledge of electrical power distribution systems from 35KV to 480V
- Ability to help develop and improve skill set of electrical craftsmen
- Ability to work nights and Turnarounds as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum: BSEE from an accredited university
- Minimum: 5 years of industrial electrical engineering experience
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensure: Registered professional engineer in Louisiana or ability to acquire PE
