Title: Assistant Branch Manager

Status: Exempt

Reports to: Branch Manager

Supervises: Tellers

Summary: This position works closely with the Branch Manager to attain branch/bank established goals. Manages a team responsible for exceptional customer service standards along with operational soundness and generating revenue for the branch/bank. 

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• 4 years retail banking experience
• 2 years of management/supervisory experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and any banking software used in the branch
• Training and mentoring skills
• Customer focused service and sales skills
• Understands consumer and small business lending
• Overall knowledge of bank operations
• Previous Teller experience
• NMLS Certified

Responsibilities:

• Open new accounts, responsible for ATM balancing and replenishment.
• Ensures the branch is operationally sound.
• Ensures that the tellers are trained and competent in explaining all products and services offered
• Obtain NMLS certificate credentials as soon as possible to be able to discuss and process loan applications; interviews loan applicants, gather necessary documentation, forward to the loan department and follow up with customers as needed. Complete loan settlements and submit completed loan package to the loan department.
• Monitors sales and service goals
• Conducts branch huddles
• Processes and oversees technical tasks such as opening and closing of the branch, overdraft monitoring and official check signing.
• Routinely and consistently provides guidance and training to branch team
• Resolves conflicts unassisted
• May back up teller line
• Ability to pass personal banking training
• Responsible for satisfactory audits
• Actively contributes to employee management and training
• Assist with monitoring safe deposit box delinquencies and overdrawn account collection.
• Services complex accounts often
• Actively coaches and mentors team to deepen customer relations
• Beginning to independently engage in business development
• Independently oversees tellers or may collaborate with Branch Manager to do so
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of FDIC principles.
• Maintain security of customer information and adhere to the Privacy Policy.
• Follow Harford Bank’s check cashing guidelines. 
• Successfully complete required compliance modules.
• Responsible for reading all internal communications distributed within the Branch.

• Understand and comply with all Bank policies.
• Understand and comply with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, SARs, and Harford Bank security procedures.
• Maintain security of customer information and adhere to the Privacy Policy
• Complete all required annual compliance training requirements.

Responsible for understanding the Bank's BSA/AML Policy, including satisfactory completion of required annual BSA/AML training as applicable to position and appropriately applying this knowledge to daily activities and responsibilities, specifically understanding that any suspicious activity must be reported to the BSA Officer immediately.
