Harder Mechanical Contractors is Hiring a Purchasing Agent Near Hillsboro, OR

Harder Mechanical has an immediate need for a Purchasing Agent to join the company at a warehouse near our project site in Hillsboro, OR. As a purchasing agent, you will be responsible for ensuring all materials are accurately ordered and delivered to our project teams in line with schedule requirements. The purchasing agent is also responsible for accurate invoicing.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives
  • Maintains current and accurate files of suppliers pricing
  • Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department
  • Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders
  • Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers
  • Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation
  • Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents

Requirements

  • 3 years’ experience in senior administrative or customer service role
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Comfort in working with numbers and basic math
  • Ability to communicate with various departments
  • Collaborative team player
