Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for internal and external guests. The incumbent in this position is responsible for supporting the Production Manager with all elements of venue production, advancing of shows and related administrative needs. Maintains correspondence files, contracts for talent and outside vendors, assigned projects, spreadsheets, budget files, scheduling, submission of graphic requests and general office management duties.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)

• Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.• Assists Production Management with training and enforcing all standard operating procedures, internal controls and company policies and job performance.• Oversees production requirements for casino stages, including but not limited to, Hard Rock Café and Council Oak.• Operates sound, lighting, and video for casino stages and Hard Rock Live as required.• Performs technical operation and maintenance of all property audio, video, and lighting systems.• Supervises Technician Production-HRL staff, Entertainment Runner(s), vendors and production/show support on the day-of-show.• Assist in implementing event operating plans and for Hard Rock Live.• Assemble and disassemble trusses for lighting shows, soft goods, scenery, drops, curtains, etc.• Assemble sets and stages, including related light and sound components.• Load in prior to shows and performances and loads out following shows and performances equipment, instruments, wardrobe, tools, etc.• Repair and maintain lighting, sound and fly systems, drops, soft goods, stage and stage floor, musical instruments, etc. to avoid delay or cancellation of performances due to malfunctioning equipment.• Maintains office management duties, including answering phones; making travel arrangements and reservations; making appointments, greeting visitors (including determining nature of business); composing and sending correspondence and statistical reports; recording of meeting minutes; sorting, preparing and prioritizing mail; and maintaining files to ensure effective preparation of materials, flow of information, and management of schedule to allow Production Management and the Director to most efficiently utilize their time for matters relevant to the successful operations and management of Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana.• Creates and distributes day-of-show information to appropriate departments, catering staff and vendors.• Arranges local transportation for artist and their crew, including serving as an Entertainment Runner if needed.• Maintains relationships with local vendors, hotels, and parking permit officers.• Advances and oversees day-of-show artist catering and green room needs with internal staff.• Arranges and facilitates artist meet & greets, including photography if requested.• Arranges and facilitates artist merchandise sales.• Requests and proofs signage and artwork for the Production and Entertainment Department.• Schedules cleaning and maintenance of production offices, dressing rooms, green rooms and backstage area.• Attends and participates in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned.• Attends Special Event meetings on behalf of the Production Department along with appropriate managers.• Reviews and prepares for monthly accounts payable, general ledger and P&L meetings on behalf of the Production Department as needed.• Performs work regularly and predictably.• Other duties as assigned.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNTIONS

• Attends seminars when needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

These abilities and knowledge to do so are typically acquired through the completion of a high school education or equivalent, as well as through a minimum of (2) years of experience in a similar role in the live music industry; or combination of education and experience. College degree and/or gaming experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State and Gaming/Lottery regulations
  • Must successfully pass background check
  • Must successfully pass drug screening
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Must have a clean driving record and be able to drive a full-sized SUV or 15-Passenger Van
  • Follow all policies for company cell phone usage
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.
  • Must be available to work 80 - 100 shows a year from load-in to load-out and office hours/meetings/conference calls, as needed

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Microsoft Office Suite and other software systems
  • Independently initiating, following up on, and completing assignments as well as special projects
  • Strong understanding of the gaming industry and the Hard Rock brand
  • Basic mathematical functions
  • Sound interpersonal judgment and decision-making skills in directing administrative tasks, using discretion when necessary, understanding the potential impact on the department

ABILITY TO:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with external contacts and all levels of team members
  • Use all required equipment in an effective and efficient manner
  • Work with various computer applications and programs
  • Review and comprehend all necessary documentation
  • Compose, type, route, and file correspondence, etc.
  • Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed
  • This position spends time on the casino floor, and is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise, and smoke, the severity of which depends upon guest volume
  • Perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Interface professionally with business contacts and customers
  • Obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State and Gaming regulations
  • To move throughout the business (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time
  • To make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists
  • To express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear
  • To obtain impressions through the eyes
  • Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders
  • To move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds
  • To turn or twist body parts in a circular motion
  • To tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy/smokey environment
  • To operate potentially hazardous equipment
