Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial information for internal and external use, maintaining, and ascertaining the integrity of accounting records for the purpose of compiling, reconciling, adjusting and/or reclassifying accounting and operational information. This position is responsible for analyzing assigned balance sheet accounts and maintaining respective account folders. Incumbents in this position are assigned to various departments and are responsible for specialized familiarity with the operations and financial statements of the assigned departments.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:(These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)• Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Northern Indiana their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.• Performs general ledger function and staff support in accordance with company policies and procedures.• Responsible for Journal entry preparation and input, preparation of internal, regulatory, and SEC financial statements.• Responsible for integrity of monthly financial reporting package.• Prepares account analysis, schedules, reports, bank and account reconciliation, and government tax reports.• Responsible for maintenance of the fixed asset system including tracking, input, and depreciation of assets.• Maintain chart of accounts.• Assists internal, contracted, and regulatory auditors in their examination of accounting records to ensure that auditors receive adequate information and interpretation for effective inspection of Hard Rock records. Perform other duties as assigned.• Assists managers in the interpretation of departmental financial statements to ensure that adequate and accurate information is provided to promote understanding of the financial statements.• Responsible for maintenance of Company’s Chart of Accounts.• Adheres to all Indiana Gaming Regulations.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS• Attend seminars when needed.

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)Five years progressive accounting work experience preferred. Your year (4) Accounting degree preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):• Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission.• Must successfully pass background check.• Must maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data and casino policies.• Must successfully pass drug screening.• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE OF:• The Gaming industry, including principles and practices of a capital and operations budget.• Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases to include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.• Sound interpersonal judgment and decision-making skills• Financial systems and proficiency with spreadsheet software.• Experience in PC environment and PC based accounting related software packages.• 10-Key calculator.

ABILITY TO:• Perform mathematical and statistical functions.• Independently initiate, follow up, and complete assignments, as well as special projects.• Perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.• Effectively perform multiple tasks.• Interface professionally with business contacts and guests.• Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.• Obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.• Maintain confidentiality, understanding the potential impact on the department.
