Happy Medium is seeking a Devloper Intern to support our work and to learn and grow. 

POSITION SUMMARY

The web developer intern’s primary responsibility will be to work together with the Happy Medium interactive team to create and improve websites for our clients. Happy Medium believes the clients’ needs always come first, so that attitude is a must. This is a growing company – you will have the chance to be a part of it from the ground up. Applicants must be willing to be involved in several parts of the business and this industry.

 Required Skills

• Strong understanding of modern front-end web development techniques including responsive design
• Experience using Git in project workflows
• Knowledge of modern JavaScript practices
• Understanding of using open-source projects in a development environment
• Basic knowledge of SEO/SEM and its impact on web design
• Strong technical communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-starter and motivated learner
• Must be able to provide work samples 

Desired Skills

• Experience with WordPress development
• Familiarity with working in the command line
• Familiarity and understanding of object-oriented programming in languages like PHP, or JavaScript
• Knowledge of various deployment processes
• Experience writing about technical issues
• Experience using CSS preprocessors like Sass or LESS
