Job Title: Calibration Technician
Department: Facility Technology Team
Shift: Core business hours are Monday-Friday, 7AM-330PM
Direct Report: FTT Unit Manager
Type: Full-time; Non-exempt

About the Instrumentation Technician position

We are looking for an experienced operator who will operate a variety of lab testing equipment and provide equipment and hand gauge calibrations

Technician responsibilities are:

• Test, calibrate, repair, and inspect all certified measuring devices used in tire manufacturing
• Perform time based and condition based calibrations on devices such as temperature, weight, pressure and hand gauges
• Maintain calibration documentation records
• Maintain calibration procedures
• Coordinate with the production team to schedule all required calibrations
• Conduct internal time based audits to ensure ongoing compliance with the Quality System
• Understand electrical drawings, technical manuals and instructions
• Report non conformities and completed daily tasks to direct line supervisor
• Completion of annual internal training to meet the requirements of Global Standard for Calibration Technicians

Technician requirements are:

Education:

• (Required) High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• (Required) Knowledge of how instruments work such as load cells, pressure gauges and temperature measuring devices
• (Required) 3 years of relevant work experience as an Instrumentation/Calibration Technician

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; to reach with hands and arms; and to talk and hear
• Mobility throughout the facility
• Working in warm temperatures with no air condition, working outside at times during cold weather
• Employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, walk, crouch or crawl
• Employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted on a frequent basis
• Working at heights of 10 feet or greater, operating lifting devices, and entering confined spaces
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus
