Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board is Hiring a Women?s SA Services Navigator Near Hampton, VA

$45,000 Annual Salary

Monday - Friday 8:30a to 5p

The Women's SA Services Navigator plays a vital role in our commitment to addressing substance use disorders (SUD) among vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on intravenous and opioid use disorder individuals, including pregnant and postpartum women. This position is responsible for identifying, recruiting, and engaging individuals who need substance use disorder and medical assisted treatment (MAT) services. The Women's SA Services Navigator will facilitate referrals and linkages to SUD/MAT services, offering initial care coordination to primary care and related social services programs to ensure successful enrollments in SUD/MAT program(s).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outreach to identify individuals in need of substance use disorder and MAT services.
  • Perform substance abuse screening and needs assessments.
  • Develop treatment plans tailored to each client's unique needs.
  • Facilitate linkages and referrals to SUD/MAT services.
  • Provide advocacy, supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and daily living support.
  • Offer medication supervision and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with local correctional facilities, hospitals, Human/Social Services offices, and other community settings.
  • Conduct community outreach and education to inform community partners and stakeholders about available substance use treatment services within H-NNCSB.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Human Services (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or Counseling). Minimum of one (1) year of substance use disorder (SUD) case management experience. Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) certification is a plus.
