Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Sales Account Manager to join our team. As a Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, building partnerships, and expanding market share in the assigned territory. You will work closely with the Sales Playbook, utilize available resources, and implement strategic sales initiatives. This is a dynamic role that involves managing existing accounts, acquiring new partners, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • Sales Strategy and Partnership Building:
    • Develop and execute quarterly market plans to drive sales growth and increase market share.
    • Acquire new partner accounts and strengthen relationships with existing partners.
    • Utilize the Sales Playbook and available resources to drive growth and achieve sales targets.
    • Analyze sales trends and store inventory to guide purchasing decisions and avoid stock-outs.
    • Influence purchasing teams and store advocates to introduce new products and expand SKU offerings.
    • Strategically assess stores' promotional needs and implement effective promotions for optimal ROI.
    • Schedule and conduct events and customer appreciation demos to educate consumers and budtenders.
    • Ensure high-quality and up-to-date marketing assets are displayed both online and in-store.
    • Collaborate with partners on in-store merchandising and marketing opportunities to enhance brand positioning.
    • Share the latest media kit with relevant stakeholders to maintain consistent messaging.
  • Business Development:
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
    • Prioritize and manage the sales pipeline to meet saturation targets.
    • Overcome objections and employ creative problem-solving techniques.
    • Develop a comprehensive understanding of licenses within the territory to secure shelf space.
    • Engage all decision makers and stakeholders through power mapping to foster retail partnerships.
    • Negotiate pricing and terms to establish mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Effectively communicate with assigned accounts regarding invoices, collection dates, and payments.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Sales on collection escalations and resolution strategies.
    • Maintain detailed notes and develop action plans for overdue accounts, credits, or write-offs.
    • Ensure timely processing of credit memos.
  • Sales Operations and Administrative Tasks:
    • Manage all aspects of the sales cycle, including pricing negotiations, marketing initiatives, in-store promotions, event scheduling, and order fulfillment.
    • Create a structured weekly route plan based on meetings, sample drops, and actionable items.
    • Strategically plan sales initiatives on a quarterly basis using market plan templates.
    • Maintain an up-to-date pipeline and diligently update Salesforce.
    • Provide prompt and exceptional customer service by responding to client inquiries in a timely manner.
    • Confirm orders and deliveries in advance to ensure smooth operations.
    • Respond promptly to internal communications and external emails.
    • Stay informed about competitor activities and report relevant information in a timely manner.
    • Collaborate with various departments such as finance, inventory, and distribution for seamless operations.
    • Provide internal feedback on marketing assets, competitors, and innovation to contribute to team growth.
  • Travel and Compliance:
    • This role requires up to 80% travel within the defined territory.
    • Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and obtain required permits, licenses, and certifications.

Job Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of sales and account management experience, preferably in the local cannabis industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems is preferred.
  • Highly motivated and driven individual with a positive attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations tailored to the audience’s needs.
  • Must have all required Cannabis permits, licenses, and certifications.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for daily account visits.
  • Must meet the minimum age requirement of 21 years.
