Responsibilities

  • Working under broad direction, analyzes, modifies, and designs for multiple projects and/or projects of great complexity requiring independent application of advance engineering techniques
  • Leads projects or design teams. Considered a subject matter expert in the application of standard materials and components
  • Investigates use of alternate materials and provides input on strategic sourcing of materials
  • Plans and conducts projects with wide latitude for independent action
  • Advises and handles field and manufacturing problems to maintain and improve products and services
  • Incorporates Reliability, HSE and Quality analysis techniques during the design process
  • Job role contributes directly to value creation

Proven record

  • leading multiple projects at one time.
  • leading development projects with the target to develop differentiating technology.
  • working within a global cross-functional team.

Customer facing

  • Tracking requirements, analyzing budget (annual and monthly), managing schedules, and technical decision making
  • Preferred experience with design, analysis, testing, manufacturing, failure investigation, and technical writing
  • PMP certification preferred

Education Requirements

  • Skills typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline, and 7 years of related experience. Completion of a Masters in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred. Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer is also preferred
  • Candidates having qualification that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher-level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available from Principal Mechanical, Mechanical Technical Advisor up to the Senior Mechanical Technical Advisor
