Job Summary The Purchasing Buyer Asst isresponsible for maintaining accurate records for purchase orders placed by thebuying team. Entry of estimated shipping dates, price verification to orderacknowledgement, and price file updates. . Job Duties · Reviewall order acknowledgments received from suppliers and update the HJC systemsaccordingly. · Verifypricing accuracy, quantities, and shipping/tracking info and update the POsystem with this information. · Monitorvendor shipments and receipt of merchandise to ensure that they are withinacceptable parameters established by the Profit Center Manager. · Meetor exceed the Profit Center targets for fill rate/service levels of _90_ %,annual inventory turns of 5-6 and slow-moving/devalued inventory levels of <10%. · Performdaily cycle counts, research and resolve all inventory discrepancies. · Maintainsuccessful relationships with suppliers/vendors. · Performrequired file maintenance to products, price and buy matrices; communicate withProduct File Administrator as necessary. · Monitormerchandise returns to ensure timeliness and credit accuracy. · Reportchanges in pricing levels and potential problem areas or conditions that couldadversely affect the Company’s procurement position. · Performother reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and othermanagement as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities · Possessesexcellent verbal communication and negotiation skills. · Ableto build and maintain a positive working relationship with vendors, customersand co-workers. · Energetic,self-motivated and able to work independently. · Ableto learn and operate (keyboard and mouse) the applicable software system(Eclipse) used to create, process and monitor purchase orders, and to producereports for analysis. · Read,write, speak and understand English. · Add,subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, anddecimals.
