Hageman Group LLC is Hiring a Senior Accountant Near Carmel, IN

Hageman Group/Hageman Real Estate is looking to add an experienced Senior Accountant to our team in Carmel, IN. This position will be primarily responsible for reviewing and analyzing property level financial statements prepared by property managers and joint venture partners, prepare and update depreciation schedules, assist in recording intercompany transactions, review and/or prepare development draws for projects under construction, monthly financial statement closings.

Job Description

Seeking experienced Senior Accountant with real estate industry knowledge.

Specific tasks involve:

  • Prepare or review monthly closing for real estate and real estate holding entities which includes monthly journal entries, preparing supporting workpapers, and review general ledger
  • Analyze property level financials and budget variances prepared by property manager and provide necessary journal entries
  • Oversee and prepare monthly property scorecard by gathering leasing and financial data from various sources
  • Complete ad hoc reporting to management related to project returns, cash distributions, and tax projections
  • Aid in preparation of external investor reporting and bank reporting
  • Approve invoices to ensure property coding of GL Account & Entity Cost Center
  • Review fixed asset additions and preparation of depreciation reports using Fixed Asset Software
  • Review and/or prepare monthly draws for projects in development
  • Use Spreadsheet Server license to publish financial statements and maintain/develop supporting workpapers for real estate holding companies
  • Prepare and record intercompany transactions via journal entries and invoicing

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in real estate accounting and/or taxation
  • Ability to interpret real estate financial statements, operating agreements, leases, and loan documents
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Detailed oriented with ability to work independently
  • Ability to create and refine accounting processes and procedures
  • Solid understanding of intercompany accounting
  • Strong computer/IT skills
