The Mammography Technologist, utilizing digital technology, performs high quality mammograms, meeting ACR standards for positioning and technique. Incumbent must meet all MQSA requirements regarding training and continuing education and experience. Must be willing to perform bone density testing. Participates in all departmental activities relating to organizational goals and regulatory agencies. The individual may perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs, A.S. in Radiologic Technology or certification from an approved 24 month hospital based program. Meets MQSA initial and continuing education requirements in mammography.
2. Meets FDA requirements to perform FF Digital mammography. Meets minimum requirement (MQSA) of mammographies performed.
3. Full Field Digital mammography experience and certification required.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
1. One year in mammography preferred. Initial training in 3D Mammography preferred. 3D Tomosynthesis experience and certification preferred. Dexa bone density testing knowledge, preferred but willing to train. Experience with PACS preferred.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. Diagnostic Radiography License.
2. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification - ARRT (M).
3. Department 3321332 AMI Old Bridge Only: AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification - BLS
