Position Objective
At Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia (“HFHP”) we are builders who work alongside, not for others. We are driven by accountability and defined by our stick-to-itiveness. The Individual Giving Manager focuses primarily on giving from individuals and will be part of the Development Team, reporting to the Director of Development. They will be responsible for cultivating a portfolio of 100 donors, leading on stewarding and upgrading mid-level donors between $500-$2,499, stewarding the Wilt Street Legacy Society, leading on prospect research and managing and organizing gift officer Salesforce records, and spending a portion of their time managing and executing on special events. The Individual Giving Manager will be a development professional with proven experience in securing the support and engagement of individual donors. They will be metrics-driven, a self-starter and possess working knowledge of development best practices.
Initiate, Develop and Maintain an Individual Giving Strategy
Work closely with the Director of Development and Chief Development Officer to establish a comprehensive plan for individual giving with long-range and annual goals
Work with the Director of Development to establish key performance metrics based on visits, donor retention, and in dollars raised
Collaborate with The Director of Development and Development team to build and cultivate their portfolio of annual giving prospects
Cultivate and steward relationships with current and potential donors including annual and event donors, in-kind donors, volunteers, HFHP young professionals, and professional associations
Elevate and sustain levels of giving for the current monthly, workplace, and annual donors
Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Annual Giving on prospect research efforts and meticulous management of Salesforce records
Think creatively and lead unique opportunities for donor engagement including Cars for Homes, workplace giving, donor-advised funds, challenge grants, donor house parties, monthly donors, mid-year appeals, etc.
Steward Individual Donors
Develops and executes strategies for acquiring, maintaining, and upgrading mid-level donors
Invite donors to special events including luncheons, home dedications, groundbreakings, site tours, fundraising events, ReStore grand openings, etc
Lead bi-weekly gift officer meetings and collaborates with Chief Development Officer and Gift Officers on defining donor portfolios and upgrading donors
Develops and executes strategies for increasing the number of recurring donors and their level of commitment
Ensure donors are thanked in a timely manner and all gifts are appropriately acknowledged through staff and board-involved thank you calls
Initiate intentional messaging for segmented donor lists
Supports overall resource development team strategy to build on the culture of philanthropy at HFHP
Special Events and Committees
Participate in the planning and execution of major Habitat Philadelphia events as needed
Attend meetings and periodically solicit corporations, foundations, and other entities
Engage with Young Professionals’ Advisory Board and Board of Directors upon request
Logistics
Attend regular meetings with the supervisor and development team meetings
Attend regular huddles with the Director of Development as it pertains to annual fund goals
Provide regular donor prospect reports
Participate in professional development opportunities related to this position
Track expenses on a monthly statement for approval
Manage and maintain donor contacts in Salesforce (donor database)
Travel to and from meetings and appointments in locations and times when public transit might not be available
