Gurwin Healthcare System is a full continuum of care providing extraordinary care and caring to the people that we serve. Set on a 36-acre campus in Commack, NY, the Gurwin Healthcare System includes the 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, memory care, respiratory and ventilator care, palliative and hospice care, social and medical adult day programs, and on-site dialysis. Sharing the campus is Gurwin’s Assisted Living community (Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences) and our independent living community (Fountaingate Gardens). Our Certified Home Health Agency and Licensed Home Care Services Agency have an office in Farmingdale, NY.

We are currently seeking a full-time Executive Director who will have a genuine passion for improving the quality of life for older adults. Be creative and innovative in community management, ensuring consistent, high quality service and care. Be an outstanding communicator, coach and mentor. Provide value based leadership by example; demonstrating credibility, discipline, follow through, consistency, and strong team orientation. Proven operations and financial management skills and a solid marketing and sales background.

Job Summary: As part of the Gurwin Healthcare System leadership team, the ExecutiveDirector (ED) is responsiblefor the efficient operations and overall managementand direction of the day-to-dayfunctionsofFountaingate Gardens (FG)inaccordancewithFGpoliciesandprocedures,currentstandards,guidelines,andCCRCregulations.Candidatewillhire,evaluate, monitor performance, and supervise staff in accordance with FG policies. The ED is also responsiblefor achieving and maintaining budgetedoccupancy, achieving and maintaining compliance, professionally representingthe facilitytothecommunity,andcreatingasupportiveandenjoyablelifestylefortheresidents.

Special Skill/Licenses: ProficiencyinMSOfficeandothersoftwaretoolsasneededinaCCRCorganization.

Competencies/Responsibilities:

1.Responsible for the overall administration of the independent living community, including strategic planning, goal setting, finance support, activity programming, building services, and reporting.

2.Provides leadership in developing and implementing systems for efficient and comprehensive service/care. Ensures accountability, communication, and good working relationships among the staff and residents.

3.Responsible to act as FG’s customer service team leader.

4.Ensures compliance of programs and facilities with regulatory agencies (local, state and federal). Stays informed and monitors standards and compliance.

5.Responsible for developing the budget for his/her areas of responsibility, as well as monitoring adherence to same. Also must adhere to contractual obligations and manage occupancy development.

6.Responsible for interacting with the Residents' Association regarding ongoing activities, special programs, satisfaction monitoring and long-term planning.

7.Acts as liaison with the Wellness Program regarding the appropriateness for continued stay within the independent living community.

8.Communicates with family members and coordinates such communication through the Wellness Program.

9.Coordinates other special projects and/or functions based on the needs of the community.

10.Works with the Move-In Coordinator to monitor move-ins as well as moderate staffing required for move-ins and turnover.

11.Participates in all required education programs in regard to the program and others necessary for the successful operation of the agency.

12.Plans, develops, organizes, evaluates and implements programs and activities serving FG residents.

13.Ensures adherence to FG’s policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal standards and regulations for employees, residents, family members and visitors.

14.Works collaboratively with FG's other department managers as well as other management staff throughout the Gurwin Healthcare System to ensure that the residents are receiving the best possible care at all times.

15.Assists with budget development and adherence, as well as accurate forecasting of expenses and cost control. Ensures that adequate financial records and reports are prepared and submitted to Administration as required.

16.Ensures that an adequate number of appropriately trained professional and auxiliary personnel are on duty at all times to meet the needs of the residents.

17.Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of FG.

18.Responsible for building and maintaining census through the establishment of community referral sources.

19.Facilitates interviewing, hiring, and training employees; teaching, mentoring and directing work; performance appraisals, rewards and recognition, corrective action, and addressing complaints and resolving conflict.

20.Represents FG at professional meetings and at community activities in order to develop a positive image for FG, while obtaining the vital support of the community in which the facility is situated.

21.Performs all necessary related administrative responsibilities as required.

22.Develops new initiatives, programs, and cost effective measures.

23.Shares knowledge and fosters and promotes dissemination of information as it relates to organizational needs.

24.Maintains confidentiality and performs duties in a safe manner.

25.Takes an active role in the prevention of employee incidents and accidents and makes recommendations to improve safety.

26.Demonstrates an attitude of cooperation and professionalism when dealing with staff, peers and supervisors.

27.Adheres to all aspects of Customer Service. Some examples include the following: Working together, showing empathy, courteous communication and respect of others.

28.Adheres to The Gurwin Healthcare System Corporate Compliance Plan.
