Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a renowned healthcare provider located on Long Island, NY which offers a full continuum of services. The Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a 460 bed facility providing services for short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, home care programs, an adult day health program, ventilator dependent care, palliative and hospice care, a new Memory Care Unit and on-site dialysis. The Gurwin Family of Services also includes the 201-apartment Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner assisted living community, and the Fountaingate Gardens independent living community on the Commack campus.
Our innovative facility and growing services offer opportunities to advance your career. We are currently seeking a full time Engineering Supervisor who will embody the passion and commitment required to deliver the ultimate care for our participants.
Primary responsibilities will be to assist the Chief Engineering Officer in running the Day-to-day operations of the Engineering department to maintain and ensure the safety of the building and its occupants, equipment, grounds, and all utilities of the Center and supporting buildings. You will be scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Requirements Include:
High school diploma with some post high school education or a minimum of five years’ experience in mechanical trades.
Responsibilities include:
Assist in developing budgets and long-term project lists.
Assist in the planning, scheduling, and supervising of the maintenance staff.
Available to respond to the facility and work long hours in event of emergency
Make recommendations to the Chief Engineering Officer for improvements regarding the operation and maintenance of the facility
Assist in the training and orientating of current and new employees
Promote a good working relationship with department and other staff members, as well as residents and other departments
Inspect equipment and buildings to ensure that all areas are properly maintained and operated
Actively shares knowledge, fosters, and promotes dissemination of information as it relates to organizational needs
Maintains confidentiality in same
Has taken an active role in the prevention of employee incidents and accidents so that the number of incidents around responsibility assigned has decreased
Makes recommendations to improve safety
