The primary purpose of this position is to lead and manage the Dietary Department by utilizing available resources to accurately and timely produce and deliver high quality, appealing meals to our patients by achieving the specific business goals.

Essential Job Functions:
Ensure meals are properly prepared for each resident and adhere to each resident's diet
Ensure meals are appealing in presentation
Works closely with the nursing team in reducing unplanned weight loss and wound healing
Ensure meal preperation and delivery meets regulations and standards
Ensure food storage meets regulations and standards
Ensure all kitchen and storage areas meet regulations and standards
Documentation is timely, accurate, and complete
Survey-substantial compliance
Ensure food expenses are within budget
Supervise dietary staff to ensure they are following state regulations
Discipline dietary staff as needed
Evaluate/educate dietary staff as needed
Attends morning meetings, care plans, RAR, and mandatory all staff meetings
Qualifications:
3 years of experience required
High School Diploma or GED required
CDM Certification strongly preferred
Previous managerial/supervisory experience required
Knowledge of dietary practices, procedures, law, and regulations in a long term care facility required
Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Dietary Department
Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language
