Overview
Plans, coordinates, and directs quality assurance activities and to ensure quality of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for the maintenance and improvement of existing Quality systems
Monitors adherence and conformance to quality standards
Communicates and works with customer on quality issues at customer location and in plant
Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine receiving, in-process, and final quality instructions and activities
Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures to maximize quality and minimize costs
Directs workers engaged in inspection and part layout activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products
Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for new parts /product launches
Develops supplier quality assurance system to maximize quality, reliability and effectiveness
Oversees tracking, evaluation and correction of all customer and company defects
Responsible for IATF, TS, ISO, Q1 and other quality certifications at the location
Implementation of continuous improvement and statistical process analysis discipline through the operation towards the achievement of Quality at the source
Ensure that quality processes are followed and built into new product launches
Development and implementation of error proofing throughout the process to identify quality issues at earliest point in the process
Ensures scrap reduction and continuous improvement objectives meet Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
Qualifications
Working Conditions
Frequent exposure to manufacturing environment
Overtime is required either before or after the normal starting times and on weekends.
Travel domestically up to 10%
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor's degree (BSME) from four-year college or university with 5 years related experience; or will possess ASQ Certifications in two of the three fields: Quality Management, Quality Engineer, or Quality Audit, and have at least 8 years proven experience in the Quality field
Automotive background with high volume production and / or stamping experience a plus
Skill Specifications
Formal IATF16949/TS16949/ISO14001 training
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and processes
Understanding of lean and lean systems
