75 years strong! GT Midwest is proud to be a family owned company, where our employees and our customers are our top priority. We are looking to add a Production Team Member to the GT Midwest family!
Team Members in the various production departments (Fabrication, Hydraulics, Assembly) are primarily responsible to produce quality parts in a timely manner assuring that customer expectations are met. Members may be asked to operate machines such as presses, shears, saws, slitters, pushers, skivers, crimpers, scribers, etc. and may also be involved in weighing, bagging, and packaging. Members may also be asked to use test equipment such as calipers, test pressure equipment, thread gauges, fluke meter, ect. Team members will be directed by department Team Leaders, Plant Manager, and or Production Scheduler for their daily assignments and may be asked to work in another department as work load dictates.
Requirements
Education and/or Experience
- Experience in operating production machinery
- Ability to use measuring equipment including tape measures and calipers
- Ability to read and/or learn to read customer blue prints
- Ability to communicate, read and understand English
Language Skills
- Communicate verbally in English with co-workers
Computer Skills
- Basic computer skills helpful to learn the GT ERP System, windows, RF gun
- Basic computer skills helpful to learn to use certain testing equipment
Mathematical Skills
- Team members must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. These skills are necessary in many aspects of the job.
Physical Demands
- Job will require using hands to grab, lift, feel, pull, push; Some bending, squatting, walking, standing, reaching
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. And have the ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Work Environment
- Fast paced work day that will necessitate multiple orders to be produced
- Temperature will range from 60 – 100 degrees depending on season
- Some overtime may be necessary
