Position Overview:

As a Grubb Properties Development, intern you will have an opportunity to work with Grubb performing tasks and projects associated with the Multifamily Development teams. The internship will allow the candidate opportunities to work on coordinating various aspects of the design, financing, and development process for our multifamily ground up development. This will be a full-time, 8-week internship working onsite out of our Charlotte HQ.

Examples to include, but not limited to:

• Assists team in the selection of sites for multifamily development projects
• Helping coordinate the design process
• Participate in the preparation of pro forma financial models and analysis
• Gathering and analyzing market information
• Assisting in the preparation of real estate transaction presentations, packages, and analyses for various internal and external teams
• Helping with due diligence for new development opportunities
• Assisting with the coordination of entitlement processes; helping team with coordination of meeting with municipality officials and conducting community outreach.
• Assisting in the coordination of services of project management, property management, and accounting to successfully integrate the assets within the existing portfolio
• Supporting transaction closings

What does it take to be an ideal candidate:

• Undergraduate rising Junior or Senior in Real Estate, Business, or Finance
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Have a strong interest in Real Estate
• Proficient with Excel and financial modeling
• Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills with an ability to understand how the parts fit into the larger picture.
• Exceptional oral and written communications and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-orientation, excellent organizational skills, and a strong sense of urgency.
• Positive attitude, integrity, and reliability.
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on task management and completion.

Physical demands/Environmental Factors for the role:

• This position will be an onsite position working out of our Charlotte HQ
• This is a full-time position and candidates must be able to work M-F 8:30-5:30
• This position will occasionally travel to off-site meeting including development/acquisition sites. Candidates must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
• Frequently uses computers and phone to communicate (For example: type, write, calls, video, and text)
• This position will work under moderate supervision
