GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The engineering manager plans, organizes and directs engineering to meet company objectives for design, R&D and improvement of existing product lines by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES ARE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

· Engineering – Plans and directs all aspects of the organizations product design policies, objectives, and initiatives. Oversees development of new products and improvements to existing products or product lines. Stays abreast of trends in the field and ensures that all products meet the strategic goals of the organization. Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis. Plans documentation system

· Testing –Oversees testing of processes, products, and manufacturing methods. Communicates with vendors and customers to ensure proper function of our products.

· R&D - Working with the manufacturing, operations and quality manager, reviews and monitors quality and process improvements and new product development. Supervises new product design and R&D department. Selects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement for existing ones

· Manufacturing – Assists in all aspects of the organizations manufacturing processes. May assist for planning and directing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly and work force utilization.

· Assists in the ongoing quality program.

· Involved in continuous improvement objectives.

· Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS:

· Understanding of ISO International Standards

· CMM experience preferred

· Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), MAS100 or equivalent program.

· Understanding of engineering concepts in process improvements and design.

· Understanding of firearms and Sporting Goods is a plus.

· A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

· Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

· Solidworks required, Mastercam a plus

· Metrology and machining background preferred

· Project management training/experience preferred

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in business or an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience

· 10 plus years manufacturing management experience

· ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt (or ability to obtain within one year of employment)

· OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification (or ability to obtain within one year of employment)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
