About the role:

The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, commissioning, and operation of a new Battery Active Material (BAM) facility. This position will work with both R&D and engineering teams tasked with the design and construction of the world’s largest production facility to produce the next generation lithium silicon anode materials.

What you’ll be doing:

• Carry out process development studies towards scale up and commercialization of materials.
• Plan & execute designed experiments (DOEs) at various process scales and perform process modeling to elucidate the underlying mechanism, kinetics, and transport of production processes.
• Assist in design, construction, and commissioning of process equipment.
• Establish engineering change management systems to evaluate and mitigate process and product risks.
• Investigate material characteristics and process/device performance relationships to recommend continual improvement and control strategies.
• Coordinate with R&D and manufacturing teams to schedule and prioritize activities to meet goals.

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• MUST HAVE industrial engineering experience.
• Experience in materials production and/or chemical processing.
• Experience in capital project management.
• Experience with thermal processing
• Experience with bulk powders processing.

Other qualities we’d love for you to have:

• Industrial experience in chemical processing.
• Six-sigma certification or documented training.
• Experience with silicon gasses.
• Experience with carbon process.
• Experience in PSM covered facilities.
• Start-up experience.

The base salary range for this role is $95,000 to $125,000. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.
